Harvest Lunch 27th September 2018

Yesterday we all enjoyed a delicious Harvest lunch cooked by Abby and served up beautifully by Karen and Mandy. Thank you all for all your hard work.

We sat outside in the glorious autumn sunshine. We were glad to share our special lunch with some visitors from the WI and Parish Council. The children chatted away enthusiastically to them about all kinds of subjects. Many of our visitors also came to the church to enjoy the service.

Rev Katie’s visit – Thy Kingdom Come Project May2017

Rev Katie visited our school this week. She held a thoughtful and reflective collective worship to finish our value of Service, which she skilfully linked to Ascension Day. She has
also worked with each class focusing on prayer. Each lesson focused on the importance of prayer to Christians and otherfaiths and the different types of prayer people write and read. This is part of a country wide programme called ‘Thy
Kingdom Come’ which Katie and the community are involved in.

The children have all written their own prayer on a piece of
bunting and these will be displayed in the Church and then will be
hung in the classes.

31st March 2017

This morning we had our termly Federation Assembly, held at Thorverton this time, and it was really good to see all the children together in one place to share the work that they have been doing over the last few weeks in the run up to Easter.

Easter service introduction Class 3.

We have spent some of this term looking at works of art that show different aspects of Jesus’ life, the symbolism of colours and objects used, down to the positioning of the people and Jesus in the pictures.

After having studied many works of art we then painted our own. The children then went on to show and explain the symbolism behind what they had done.
