Paignton Zoo Trip (R-Y6)
Takes place on: 16th September 2024
Dear parents/carers of children in Reception - Year 6,
TRIP TO PAIGNTON ZOO-WEDNESDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2024
As a ‘memorable moment’ in each class’s topic, we are very excited to have booked a whole school trip to Paignton Zoo. As well as an opportunity to explore the zoo, children in Ash will also participate in an African Safari workshop, Oak will join a 'Remarkable Rainforests' workshop, and Beech a 'Conservation Conundrum' escape room style workshop. Please note that children in Nursery will stay at school on this day with Mrs McKennan and Mrs Moggridge. They have some exciting plans for this day too!
This trip will take place on Wednesday 16th October. To enable us to make the most of the trip, we will be leaving school at 8:30am and will be due to return at 4.30 If your child usually comes to school on the bus we are hoping they may be able to drop children off to school earlier than usual. We will let you know the arrangements for this shortly.
We are extremely grateful to the PTA who have offered to pay for the coach travel (a whopping £800!) Without this we simply would not have been able to go. However, to cover the cost of the zoo tickets, we are asking for a voluntary donation of £10.95 per child which is payable via School Gateway. We appreciate that this may be difficult for some families, and have spent a long time planning our trips so the more expensive options do not clash with other trips/residentials. If your child receives the Pupil Premium grant this donation has been reduced to £5.50. We really want all children to be able to attend so if you are struggling to make this payment please do let us know and we will do what we can to help.
Children will need to wear their school uniform with comfortable shoes/trainers, and bring a waterproof coat. They will need a packed lunch and plenty to drink. If your child receives pupil premium funding and you would like a school packed lunch please let the office know by Friday 11th October.
Best wishes,
Claire Theedom
