Welcome to Skylarks Class

Skylarks is our vibrant Key Stage 2 class, where children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 learn together. Our mixed-age setting gives pupils valuable opportunities to work collaboratively, learn from one another and grow in confidence and independence.

Our curriculum is carefully organised to meet the needs of every year group. Some subjects, including spelling, mathematics and science, are split and taught separately so that learning is closely matched to pupils’ age and stage.

In other subjects, such as history, all pupils explore the same overarching topic—for example, the Romans—but follow different learning pathways. The knowledge, skills, activities and expected outcomes are carefully adapted so that every child is appropriately supported, stretched and challenged.

Through high-quality texts, purposeful writing, practical learning, creative projects, sport and outdoor education, we encourage every child to be curious, resilient and proud of their achievements.

Our children are known and valued as individuals. We support and challenge each pupil so that they can flourish academically, socially and spiritually, living out our Christian values of love, hope, community, dignity and wisdom.
